A Wilkinson's, 1889 pattern ceremonial sword; originally owned by 2nd Lieutenant C A Shaw Royal 1st Battalion, Northumberland Fusiliers and saw action n the Boer war, at the outbreak of the 1st World War, the sword was fitted with an 1897 Pattern George V basket and passed onto Shaw's son who also fought with Northumberland Fusiliers.
